Questions And Answers For Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ Mastercard®

Question: Do I get a welcome bonus if I go for this card?

Answer: Yes, as a welcome offer you can earn 50,000 American Airlines Aadvantage® bonus miles after spending $5,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening if you are a new cardmember. If you qualify for the bonus miles, you should see these miles in your Aadvantage® account 8-10 weeks after you have met the $5,000 purchase requirements. Take note - these American Airlines Aadvantage® bonus miles will not be available to you if you have had any Citi® / AAdvantage® card (other than a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® card) opened or closed in the past 24 months.

Question: Is this a good rewards credit card?

Answer: Yes, this credit card lets you earn rewards on literally every purchase you make! You will earn 2 AAdvantage® miles for every $1 spent on eligible American Airlines purchases; and 1 AAdvantage® mile for every $1 spent on other purchases (with the exception of returned goods and services, cash advances, convenience checks, transferred balances, credits, fees and interest charges).

What are considered American Airlines purchases you wonder? These can include items billed by American Airlines as merchant of record booked through American Airlines channels (aa.com, American Airlines reservations, and American Airlines airport and city ticket counters).

What's not considered eligible American Airlines purchases? According to the T&Cs, products or services that do not qualify include car rentals and hotel reservations (except taxes and charges paid when redeeming miles for car/hotel), purchase of elite status boost or renewal, and AA Cargo℠ products and services.

Question: Do I earn Elite Qualifying Miles with this credit card?

Answer: Yes, you do. In fact, you will earn 10,000 AAdvantage® Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs) after spending $40,000 in eligible purchases that post to your cardmember account during a calendar year, from January 1st through December 31st. These EQMs will only count toward elite status qualification for the AAdvantage® program and not the AAdvantage Million Miler℠ status. Also, keep in mind that your EQMs cannot be redeemed for award travel, AAdvantage® miles or any other AAdvantage® program awards.

Question: Do I get any special benefits from this card?

Answer: Absolutely, you get to enjoy Admirals Club® Membership and get access to more than 50 lounge locations globally along with your authorized user, even when you are not with them. You will also enjoy an enhanced airport experience thanks to perks like priority check-in, screening and boarding privileges for you and up to 8 travel companions on the same reservation.

Additionally, you stand to receive a statement credit, up to $100 every 5 years, as reimbursement for your application fee for Global Entry or The TSA Pre✓®. Enrollment in any of these programs will help you speed through security - a handy perk that will save you time and stress when you travel.

What's more, there is the perk of first free checked bag for you and up to 8 travel companions in the same reservation on domestic itineraries marketed and operated by American Airlines, or on domestic itineraries marketed by American Airlines and operated as American Eagle® flights by Compass Airlines, LLC, Envoy Air Inc., ExpressJet Airlines, Inc., Mesa Airlines, Inc., Republic Airline Inc., PSA Airlines, Inc., Piedmont Airlines, Inc., Air Wisconsin Airline Corp., SkyWest Airlines, Inc., Trans States Airlines, LLC.

You also get to save 25% on in-flight purchases of food and drinks on flights that are operated by American Airlines when you pay with your Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ Mastercard®. Take note this benefit does not apply to other in-flight purchases like wireless internet access and is not available on codeshare flights booked with an American Airlines flight number but operated by another airline.

Question: Does this card have an annual fee?

Answer: Yes, you need to pay to use Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ Mastercard® as it has a $450 annual fee

Question: Is this a good card for international spending?

Answer: Yes, this credit card is a good one to reach for when you are overseas or when you shop from international stores online in foreign currencies as it has no foreign transaction fee. If you travel abroad frequently or if you shop from international websites on the regular, you will certainly appreciate this particular benefit because most credit cards that do not offer a $0 foreign transaction fee often come with a 3% foreign transaction fee on transactions converted to the U.S. dollar.

Question: Is this card good for purchases?

Answer: This credit card has a 17.99% - 25.99%* variable APR, depending on your creditworthiness. It is not a good credit card for purchases if you are someone who tends to carry balances.

Question: Is this card good for taking cash out of the ATM?

Answer: No, you will need to pay a lot to get cash out of the ATM using Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ Mastercard®. It has a 27.49% variable cash advance APR and a cash advance fee amounting to 5% of each cash advance; $10 minimum, whichever is greater.

Question: Is there a penalty if I pay late?

Answer: Yes, you may be penalized with up to 29.99% variable penalty APR if you make a late payment or make a payment that is returned.

Question: Can I get this card even if I have bad credit?

Answer: Unfortunately, the answer is no. Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ Mastercard® is reserved for people with excellent credit. If you do not have excellent credit, we would suggest you consider other credit cards on the market instead because getting rejected can hurt your credit.

Question: Do I get access to my credit score?

Answer: No, this credit card does not give you free access to your credit score.
